Bowie comes into this game at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in district play with convincing wins over Kyle-Lehman and Austin Anderson. A win Friday for the Bulldogs would set up a showdown of unbeaten teams next Friday night when they host rival and state powerhouse Westlake at Burger Stadium.
Austin High, meanwhile, comes into this game at 2-1 overall and 0-1 in district play having been on the wrong end of a 56-12 drubbing at the hands of Westlake last week. For the Maroons, Friday night offers them a chance not only to earn their first district win at the expense of their rivals but also a chance to do it on Homecoming.
Last season's game saw Bowie edge out Austin High 42-37. Given what's at stake for both teams this year, the Bulldogs cannot afford to look past the Maroons on Friday night.
